SUITABILITY FOR PMU – GOOD TO KNOW!

Please read the following for a quick check on certain conditions that may have an effect on, or prohibit having permanent makeup. During your free initial consultation (before booking) a quick numbing and pigment patch test will also be carried out. (The patch tests will be placed behind your ear or on your arm). Once you have booked, scroll to the end of the page to prepare for your appointment. Any questions on suitability – just get in touch – it’s better to check first!

YOUR APPOINTMENT - PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY

Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, Naproxen or Coumadin for 2 days before and 2 days after you appointment. If your doctor has prescribed these please speak to Anna PMU Clinic in advance of the treatment.

Do not drink alcohol 48 hours before your appointment - it really can make a difference to pigment retention in the skin!

I’m afraid no caffeine in the form of tea, coffee or fizzy drinks on the day of your treatment.

This will affect pigment retention. (You may then require a chargeable 3rd treatment). You can have a caffeine drink post treatment!

Please don't exercise on the day of your treatment. It is recommended no exercise which causes perspiration or increased blood flow for 2 weeks after (to avoid any blurring of pigment).

Don’t worry about plucking or tidying your brows beforehand - it’s best to keep them natural so we can see your natural brow pattern and tidy/trim accordingly on the day.

EYEBROW PROCEDURES

Eyebrow tinting – shouldn’t be undertaken for a minimum of 2 weeks before, or 2 weeks after the procedure.

Brow growth serums - stop using these at least 4 weeks prior to treatment. They can thin the skin and makes it impossible to implant colour into the skin.

Waxing to be performed at least 48 hours before your procedure and Electrolysis no less than five days before your procedure

Don’t worry about plucking or tidying your brows beforehand - it’s best to keep them natural so we can see your natural brow pattern and tidy/trim accordingly on the day.

LIP BLUSH PROCEDURES

Permanent Makeup does not cause cold sores, but if you have a history of them (or carry the herpes simplex virus) it is advised to contact your doctor for prescription medication (or obtain over the counter tablets) to prevent outbreaks . Use one week before and one week after your procedure. It can minimise an outbreak (but may not necessarily prevent it). Equally it doesn’t mean you will actually get an outbreak by having the lip procedure. Everyone is different.

Have any lip wax or bleaching treatments at least 2 weeks before your permanent makeup treatment.

If you have dry lips it is recommended to lightly exfoliate for 2 weeks leading up to the treatment with a lip exfoliate or baby soft toothbrush (gently does it!)

If you are a lip biter, have scar tissue, blood blisters or inconsistent pigment tone then the treatment may not be able to proceed. It would be best to send a photo or book a free consultation to discuss further and be completely sure.

PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT - PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW 100% - THANK YOU

The pre-procedure requirements are a key stage of the success of your treatment. Non adherence may result in the treatment being re-scheduled and a further deposit will be required to secure another appointment. I want you to achieve the best results possible!
